According to documents in his pension file, Isaac S. Ford was born May 21, 1848 in Sumner, Maine to parents Howland Ford and Tamer White. He served in the Coast Guard infantry from December 1864 to July 1865. In March 1873 he married Ada Isabel Ryerson, also a native of Sumner, Maine. After their marriage, the couple settled in South Acton where Isaac worked as a sorter in the woolen mill. He died June 7, 1934 in South Acton and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
