Sylvanus R. Hunt, age 21, a stone cutter, is recorded as an inhabitant of West Acton in the 1860 federal census (dwelling no. 196), in household with Hiram Hunt, age 50, a stone cutter, and Susan Hunt, age 57 (source:  1860 United States Federal Census. In: Ancestry.com [online database]).

The enlistment of Sylvanus Hunt (drafted) is recorded on page 19-20 of the 1863/64 annual report for the Town of Acton.
