"William Francis Knapp", a 19 year old shoemaker, age is recorded in the 1855 Massachusetts State Census for Acton, in household (dwelling no. 192/196) of Elijah and Levina Knapp (source: 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts State Census for Acton. Compiled by Ann S. Lainhart. Boston, 1989. Page 25.)
Francis W. Knapp, a 22 year old carpenter, married Laura A. Crocker on September 17, 1856, in Charlestown, Mass. The marriage register records his birth place as Acton, to parents Elijah and Lavina (source: Charlestown marriage register, Massachusetts Vital Records, 1841–1910. In: American Ancestors [online database].). Other sources say he was born on Boxborough, December 31, 1835.
He was the younger brother of George W. Knapp.
