The 1860 federal census for South Acton records Rosa Minor, age 35, born in Ireland, and children John and Marvin in household of Wm. Minor (dwelling no. 4, family no 7), a 40 year old farmer, born in New Hampshire ("1860 United States Federal Census," Ancestry.com).

The death of "Marivan Miner", Soldier in the United States Service, is recorded in the 1862/63 annual report for the Town of Acton: 20, and the 1863/64 annual report for the Town of Acton: 18.

The name "Marivan Miner" is included on the Acton Memorial Library Soldiers' Tablet, "Our Honored Dead."
