Government Resources

Community Services Office The Community Services Coordinator provides comprehensive professional social services to town residents under the age of 60. Information and referral resources are provided in conjunction with local, state and federal programs.

Health Department The Acton Public Health Department is the facilitator for the Board of Health and the Town in safeguarding the public health of the people living and working in the Town of Acton. This is accomplished by protecting and enhancing the environment and public health through education and enforcement of environmental and public health regulations.

Acton Council on Aging The Acton Council on Aging is a Town of Acton Department which offers Town seniors (aged 60 and over) a variety of programs, services and events at the Senior Center. The staff works closely with the Friends or the COA, the COA Board and with a wonderful group of volunteers to offer programs and provide services to all seniors in Town.

Veteran’s Services The Veterans’ Service Officer’s job is to help veterans learn about, apply for, and in some cases, receive benefits. Veterans’ Agents are knowledgeable about an array of federal, state, and local benefits to which you may be entitled.

Transportation Services Acton’s public transportation services are managed by Cross-Town Connect, a multi-town transportation collaborative. You can call CrossTown Connect dispatch at 978-844-6809 weekdays any time between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM

Cultural Resources

The Acton Chinese American Civic Society (ACACS) is a registered 501c (3) nonprofit organization. Established in 2016, ACACS promotes civic engagement and cultural enrichment to strengthen the Acton community. ACACS membership is open to all who share our vision and are willing to contribute to our mission. ACACS has been qualified as a certifying organization to track volunteer hours and distribute President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Green Acton

Low Income Heat Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a government sponsored program that administered by SMOC in Framingham. Residents must have income below 60% of the state median income level.  

Good Neighbor Energy Fund-The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is sponsored through the Salvation Army. This program assists households with incomes within 60-80% of the state median income and not otherwise eligible for other  fuel assistance programs.
