Who was born the
day of
A.D. 1844
in
Framingham County of  Middlesex State of Massachusetts

At Lowell, Mass on September 7th, 1861 I first entered the service, as private, in Company E 26th Massachusetts Infantry.

 

Was first discharged at New Iberia, Louisiana and was again re-enlisted as Veteran Volunteer in the same company and regiment and after four years of service, was finally discharged on Aug 26th, 1865 by reason of the close of the war.

 

My first battle was Bay on La fourch Crossing, Louisiana.

 

Other engagements I took part in were at the Shenandoah Valley, Campaign under Gen. P. H. Sheridan, Winchester, Fisher's Hill and Cedar Creek.
