On the
twentieth day of July, 1862, at Charlestown, Mass., I entered the
service, as private, in Company I. 32nd Regiment of Mass. On account
of disability, I was finally discharged on Feby 18th, at Convalescent
Camp, Alexandria, Va.
I was confined
in a hospital at Philadelphia. I was never taken prisoner.
The first battle I was engaged in was at Antietam. |
