At Worcester,
Mass, on Oct. 14th, 1861, I first entered the service, as private,
in Company C 25th Mass. Vol. Infantry and my rank at the close was
still the same. |
As my term of enlistment has expired, I was finally
discharged on October 14th, 1864 at Worcester, Mass |
The first battle I took part in was at Roanoke Island
and was also engaged at Newburn, NC, Cold Harbor and Fredericksburg.
I was never wounded, confined in prison or hospital. |
I deem being detailed as a pioneer, the most important
event during my service. |
