According to papers in his pension file, George Cram was born August 28, 1841, in Dalton, N.H. He is the brother of John B. Cram (affidavit of John B. Cram in pension file).

George Cram, age 9, born in New Hampshire, is recorded as a resident of Concord, Mass. in the 1850 federal census, in the household (27/43) of Mary M. Cram, age 40 (b. Vermont). Also in the household was John Cram, age 6 (b. New Hampshire) and William H. Cram, age 3 (b. Mass.). ("1850 United States Federal Census," Ancestry.com).

George Brown Cram, age 14 (b. New Hampshire), is recorded in the 1855 Massachusetts State Census for Acton, in household (dwelling no. 80) with Mary Maria Cram, age 46 (b. Vermont), and William Hayward Cram, age 8 (b. Mass.)  (Lainhart, 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts State Censuses for Acton, pp. 13-14.)

George Cram, age 19, a laborer, is recorded as an inhabitant of Acton in the 1860 federal census, in household (no. 273/275) of Alden Fuller (also in household was Chauncy Fuller) ("1860 United States Federal Census," Ancestry.com).

After leaving the service George Cram resided in Acton, Mass.; Dalton, N.H; and Boston, Mass. (pension file).

George B. Cram, a 52 year old harnessmaker, resident of Boston (b. Dalton, N.H. to Eve and Mary), married Mary Clery, age 27 (b. Ireland) on January 23, 1894, in Boston, Mass. It was his second marriage, and her first (Boston marriage register, "Massachusetts Vital Records, 1841–1910," vol. 444, p. 23 [image], AmericanAncestors.org).

George B. Cram, age 78, a harnessmaker, is recorded as a resident of Boston (Ward 7, District 208, family 164) in the 1920 federal census. He is recorded as being a single, born in Maine, and a lodger at the residence. ("1920 United States Federal Census," Ancestry.com).

The name George B. Cram is included on the Acton Memorial Library Soldiers' Tablet, "The Men of Acton Who Fought For The Union."
