N.H.); Anna Huggins, age 12 (b. N.H.); John Huggins, age 10 (b. N.H.); Susan C. Huggins, age 18 (b. N.H.); Elmina R. Huggins, age 6 (b. N.H.); and Eri Huggins, age 2 (b. Mass.) Adoniram Judson Huggins, age 9 (born Mass.), is recorded in the 1855 Massachusetts State Census for Acton, in residence with Eri Huggins, age 46, a Shoe Pedler, born in New Hampshire; Nancy Huggins, age 40 (b. Mass.); Anna Huggins, age 17 (b. N.H.); Susan Cushing Huggins, age 13 (born N.H.); Eri Huggins, age 7 (born Mass.); and James Kidder, age 83. Mass.), is recorded as inhabitant of West Acton in the 1860 federal census , in household (dwelling #170) with Eri Huggins, age 50, a farmer, born in N.H.; Nancy Huggins, age 46 (b. Mass.); Anna Huggins, age 22 (b. N.H.); John Huggins, age 20 (b. N.H.); Susan Huggins, age 18 (b. N.H.); Almina R. Huggins, age 16 (b. N.H.); and Eri Huggins, age 12 (b. Mass.) ("1860 United States Federal Census," Ancestry.com).

Adoniram Judson Huggins, age 19, Solider in Service, is recorded in the 1865 Massachusetts State Census for Acton, in residence with Anna Huggins, age 27 and Susan Cushing Huggins, age 23 (Lainhart, 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts State Censuses for Acton: 60).  

The name A. Judson Huggins is recorded on the Acton Memorial Library Soldiers' Tablet, "The Men of Acton Who Fought For The Union."

A. Judson was attached to Company A, Twenty-sixth Massachusetts Infantry, and served throughout the entire period of the war. Although he escaped the assailing shot and shell of the enemy during all of this long and trying period, it was his fate to be the victim of an explosion soon after the war, being killed in a locomotive explosion in Bowling Green, Ky.
