Early Church Records of Acton

The library owns a digital microfilm scanner that has allowed the reference staff to digitize the First Parish Church of Acton records, which were previously available only on microfilm.   The following volumes are available as high resolution images on CD at the reference desk, and on the website as lower resolution PDFs:

• Records of Rev. John Swift (1738-1775)  and Rev. Moses Adams (1777-1819)
• Records of Rev. Marshall Shedd (1820-1831)
• First Parish Church Records, 1825-1860  (election warrants, minutes of meetings, and other clerical records).

The reference staff is in the process of digitizing additional reels of microfilm that contain early records from the history of Acton.
